Gentleman, I know exactly what you’re thinking. “I’m trying to surprise my girlfriend with the perfect proposal but how am I supposed to sneak around all day with this conspicuous giant square in my pocket?!” I went through the same thing about a week before my own proposal day.
My Quick Story (Maybe You Relate)
I had finally put together extravagant plans for the perfect proposal in Malibu, CA. I had organized a photographer, brunch, and to meet up with friends for wine tasting later that day. Feeling pretty proud of myself I put the ring box in my pocket to rehearse my proposal and realized I had a giant square bulge sticking out of my pants. I’m like, “wtf, what am I supposed to do with this?!” Even an unsuspicious buddy would ask, “dude, what the hell is in your pocket?” The thing was so damn obvious not even a sports coat would hide it. Being Spring in Southern California I wouldn’t have gotten away with wearing a thicker jacket. This was about a week before my engagement so I hopped on Amazon and started searching for a slender box. To my surprise, most of the boxes are the same as a typical ring box. Big, blocky, and obviously a ring box. Luckily, I did find one that worked. It was a little bit expensive but worth it for me to keep the secret until it was time.
